Welcome Ankur Bhatt
- Announcement

Ankur received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Manav Rachna University, India, in 2020. In 2021, he moved to Germany to pursue a Master’s degree in Computer Science, with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence. Alongside his studies, he worked as a Student Research Assistant at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI GmbH) in Kaiserslautern from January 2022 to February 2025. He was affiliated with the Immersive Quantified Learning (iQL) and Psyberlab lab, where he published one journal article and two conference papers as the first author.
During his master’s studies, he completed a six-month research internship at Osaka Metropolitan University, Japan, supported by an Erasmus+ grant and a JASSO scholarship. Additionally, he volunteered with DFKI Saarbrücken in the Machine Translation team within the Multilinguality and Language Technology department, where he co-authored a workshop paper. He also worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Machine Translation course at Saarland University.
His research focuses on enhancing human-AI interaction by studying how AI systems make decisions and how they can effectively support humans in decision-making processes, and he aims to pursue a research-driven academic career, with the long-term goal of developing intelligent systems that are transparent, adaptive, and aligned with human cognition. He is particularly interested in designing AI systems that meaningfully integrate human signals, such as eye movements, physiological data, and language to improve interaction, learning, and accessibility.
He is passionate about interdisciplinary research at the intersection of human-AI interaction, eyewear computing, sensor-based technologies, multilinguality, and natural language processing, with a strong emphasis on building human-centered AI systems that have real-world impact.
